We recently hosted a webinar featuring Cambium Networks to explore how Cambium Fiber simplifies fiber deployments and solves common challenges faced by service providers. Here’s a summary of the key points we covered, with timestamps to help you jump directly to specific sections of the recording:
We ended the webinar with a live Q&A session and addressed several important questions from attendees. Here are the highlights:
What is the size of the bridge table on the OLT? Is there a limit to the number of MACs to a single customer? Is it VLAN aware? (Answered live)
The bridge table size is 1 million, managed in hardware, with the option to extend further in software. Yes, it is VLAN aware, making it adaptable for diverse networking requirements.
Are you able to do all of that configuration from cnMaestro as well? (Answered live)
Currently, full configuration is available through the OLT interface. Support for full configuration in cnMaestro is under development and will be available soon.
Any plans for a 10G ONT? 2.5G on XGS-PON is kind of a limit. (Answered offline)
Yes, there are plans. Currently, there is an XGS-PON ONT-on-a-stick available, which can pair with MikroTik, cnMatrix switches, or any device with SFP+ (some integration support may be required). Later this year, a PoE-out ONT with 4 ports will be available. It will feature 1x 10G, 1x 2.5G, and 2x 1G ports, powered via USB-C with a 65-watt total PoE budget. This ONT is designed for MDU properties but is also suitable for traditional FTTH scenarios.
