Learn about the latest enhancements and download the updated app. January 24, 2025 --- VSSL has [rolled out version 1.3 of its mobile app for iOS and Android](https://www.vssl.com/blogs/news/vssl-powers-faster-setup-and-easier-management-with-new-app-and-firmware), along with an over-the-air (OTA) firmware update for the SX Soundbar and SX Speaker. As part of this change, some SX devices may require reconfiguration to support the updated protocol. #### **Faster Setup & Improved Configuration** With the introduction of the new GC2 protocol, setup times have been reduced by 50% or more, making installation smoother and more efficient. #### **Enhanced User Experience** - A new “Tap to Scan” feature simplifies the setup process for new SX devices. - Each VSSL Zone now displays detailed metadata, including artist, album, track, and streaming service information. #### **Reliability & Compatibility Updates** - Improved network management for easier configuration. - A more efficient firmware update process for better system stability and performance. - Full compatibility with iOS 18 and Android 15. #### **Firmware Update Impact** Due to the protocol reset required by Google, some users may need to reconfigure their SX devices or surround sound environments after updating. While many setups will continue working as expected, others may require manual adjustments.
